1962 saw the introduction of what was known as the 'Slimstyle' range, with a far more streamlined, sportier look introduced throughout the range of Lambrettas. The same models were available, being the LI125, the LI150, and the TV175, but as the 1960s wore on, a TV200 was introduced, mainly for export to the UK. The TV175 also boasted an internal disc brake in the hub, as opposed to a standard drum brake. This was the first production disc brake fitted to a motorcycle as standard in the world, and would feature on all future Lambrettas with an engine capacity of 175cc or more. Models fitted with a disc brake also had dampers fitted to the forks.

Dave Wrobel wears his influences on his sleeve next to his heart. The dream was to create 'the sound of Americana' but far away from those old colonial shores. Described as 'Freight Train Rock' or 'West Coast meets UK Rock', Dave's love of Country, Blues, Folk, and Rock & Roll soon drew other like minded musicians to him and fuelled the birth of Alternative Freight Train Rockers Jerzey Street Band. Influences include Counting Crows, Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty. The story began in 2006 when college friends Dave Wrobel and drummer Mike Weaver met with Dave's brother Neil, a guitarist looking to make his mark on the scene, and started rehearsing on Jerzey Street in Manchester. They tried, tested and played shows with a number of musicians until eventually landing guitarist Roger Crombie, Steve Priest on keys and piano, pedal steel player 'Country' Keith Ashworth and bass player Rhys Thomas. Both pianist Michel Petrucciani and bassist Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen had considerable discographies and died far too young, Petrucciani in his mid-thirties and Pedersen at 58. Both men were virtuosos on their respective instruments, Petrucciani having played with a number of jazz greats in his all-too-brief career, while Pedersen began playing with visiting and expatriate Americans when only a teenager and especially made his mark in numerous recordings with the great Oscar Peterson. This performance at the Copenhagen Jazzhouse was unrehearsed and possibly the only time the two men played together, but their chemistry is immediate as they tackle a wide swath of standards and familiar jazz compositions. This is hardly a meeting where the bassist is merely accompanying the pianist; they engage in musical dialogues, frequently at a brisk tempo, and each inte! rprets where the other is going in the performance, not an easy task for musicians not familiar with one another. Obvious highlights are the playful, tightrope-walking, and intricate take of Sonny Rollins' "Oleo," the spirited waltzing "Someday My Prince Will Come," the somewhat whimsical setting of "'Round Midnight," and the pulsing take of "Stella by Starlight" (a refreshing change from the typical straight ballad arrangement). Vance reduced the number of episodes she appeared in to spend more time on the East Coast with her new husband, literary editor John Dodds. Lucille Ball's friend Ann Sothern made a number of appearances during 1964 and 1965 as the "Countess Framboise" (née Rosie Harrigan) to fill Vance's absence. The Countess, who had been widowed by the death of her husband, "who left her his noble title and all of his noble debts," was always trying to get some money to pay off said debts. So she also did battle with Mr. Mooney, whom she called "Mr. Money." Because it was known that Vance would be leaving the series, Sothern was proposed as the new co-star, but it did not come to be. Apparently Sothern wanted to share top billing with Ball. She did not want to be an under-billed co-star. This was not acceptable to Ball and, though Sothern did make three more guest appearances during the following (1965-66) se! ason, the idea of her becoming a series regular was abandoned. Even though Candy Moore, Jimmy Garrett, and Ralph Hart were still contracted to the series, they were used minimally during the third year. In the spring of 1965, Vance wanted to quit the show. Ball desperately hoped she would change her mind, but Vance remained adamant and left the sitcom. As a result, the 1965-66 season saw the format of The Lucy Show change dramatically.
